Fifty years ago, nearly every outdoor grill in America was powered by wood or charcoal. However, thanks to modern technology, we now have many different choices to use for fuel in our grills. Everything from propane to natural gas to cow dung can be used to grill. One specific type of grill is reigning supreme, the electric grill.

The electric outdoor grill is expanding rapidly. There are models that are available in every size. Many models are as small as George Foreman grills, while there are outdoor grills that are as large as built-in natural gas models. The move towards electric grilling has just begun recently. This is due to the fact that many of the fuels source that people use, including propane and natural gas are increasing in price. Many are looking for a fuel that is economical and will provide a great grilling experience. With an outdoor electric grill, you have the best of both worlds. Each grill is portable, meaning that if you chose to do so, you can take it anywhere you have electricity. This is extremely useful if you have parties, as many of the natural gas grills are not easily moved and propane grills are very heavy to lug to a new location.

Another benefit with an electric outdoor grill is that it can become an electric indoor grill. If you have an outdoor enclosed patio or three seasons room, you can continue to grill all year long if you chose to. Also, you no longer have to go get a refill on your propane tank. This can be a lifesaver, as propane can be very expensive to purchase. An electric grill will allow you the ability to have a constant power source. As long as you have power, or a generator, you will be able to keep your grill cooking up the food that you chose. Electric outdoor grills are not available at all home improvement stores yet, however, if you ask or visit a local grilling store you should be able to find information about models that are out on the market today. Electric outdoor grills cost anywhere from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars. The price of your electric grill will depend on its size and features.

Electric outdoor grilling is a great way to cook meat, vegetables and many other types of food. Many electric grills have the benefit of added features including built-in burners, and smokers. These types of features allow you to multi-task while using your grilling, and let you enjoy your food much faster than if you had to run back inside to cook corn on the cob in a pot on the stove.

If you are the type of person who enjoys a grill that you can use year round, without having problems with your fuel source, you should chose an electric grill. While electric grills are just beginning to take over the market, they still provide an excellent way to prepare your food! Setup your whole outdoor space with some nice decorations, some outdoor string lighting, a cooler, and you are well on your way to a hip, happening outdoor space!
